Born in New York City but raised in the Bay Area, Sandy has been an active and versatile vocalist both locally and internationally. As a founding member of the highly acclaimed vocal trio Pastiche, she has performed in top Bay Area venues such as Yoshi’s, the Great American Music Hall and the Keystone Korner, as well as touring the U.S. and Japan in support of the group’s two CD releases, “That’s R & Bebop” and “Remember That”.
Sandy also performs regularly with the Salsa group Candela, the Rich Martini Big Band, dance band City Lights as well as leading her own trio, Sandy Cressman and Friends, which performs her original jazz/pop tunes, standards and Brazilian favorites.
As a studio vocalist, she has recorded with Eddie Money, Eric Martin (of Mr. Big), Ray Obiedo, Norbert Stachel, Jeannie Tracy, Napata Mero and many others.
Sandy’s arrangements and compositions have been recorded and performed by Pastiche, Barry Schiffman, the Eric Bolvin Group, the Foothill College Jazz Choir and the Pacific Mozart Ensemble. She also teaches private voice in her own studio and at the Blue Bear School of American Music in San Francisco.
